RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey is the RHS’ flagship garden and one of the most popular in the country, attracting over one million visitors each year. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate horticulturists to join our 90-strong garden team, in the Herbaceous Ornamental team.
As a horticulturist, you will be responsible for the care, cultivation and maintenance of designated areas of the garden in addition to carrying out the new horticultural development plan. You will be helping to drive forward enhancements across the 186-acre garden to make it a treasure trove of plantsmanship and creative gardening. You will possess a good general knowledge of horticultural practice or relevant specialism and the ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team.
The Herbaceous Ornamental Team cover all aspects of gardening, with in the central parts of the Wisley estate this include Seven Acres, Glasshouse landscape designed by Tom Stuart Smith and the oldest part of Wisley, Oakwood an area first planted by George Ferguson Wilson. All parts of these remits involve intense and detailed maintenance and are rich in horticultural content. Within this team, we are looking for someone to join our team on Seven Acres, famed for it’s Winter Walk and the recently developed Welcome Landscape, designed by Christopher Bradley-Hole.
