Garden Manager – Decorative Ornamental / Estates & Services
RHS Garden Rosemoor is an enchanting garden set in the beautiful Torridge Valley, designed to provide year round interest and inspiration to all gardeners and garden lovers.
As one of two Garden Managers, you will be instrumental in helping to develop and implement our plans for the garden and estate; inspiring our curatorial teams to explore new ways of working and delivering our objectives. This exciting opportunity has arisen to manage the dramatic and stunning Formal garden, with its vibrant themed garden rooms and a diverse plant collection. Along with our Estates & Services team who underpin the site with arboricultural, machinery and irrigation care. We are looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable manager to lead these teams along with sharing the support for our School of Horticulture learners.
Able to undertake strategic and operational planning, you will be accustomed to problem solving and decision making; with a desire to deliver our charitable purpose in all that you do, providing outstanding customer care to our visitors.
You should hold an RHS MHort, HND, Foundation Degree or equivalent, with a proven practical experience in horticultural management, which may be acceptable in lieu of a formal qualification.
To work for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is to join a thriving charity, whose mission is to inspire everyone to grow. Everything we do is built on the transformational power of gardening – and the benefits it brings to people, places and our planet.
Known globally for our inspirational Shows and five spectacular Gardens, our work extends to leading groundbreaking climate research, running community outreach programmes, and setting the standards in horticultural education. With the recent opening of RHS Garden Bridgewater and Hilltop, the world’s first dedicated Centre for Gardening Science, at RHS Garden Wisley, there has never been a more exciting time to be part of our journey to make the UK a greener and more beautiful place.
And we couldn’t do this without our people. We are proud of the knowledge, enthusiasm and ideas that each one of our team members brings. From working across our social media channels, to volunteering in the Gardens, from serving customers in our Garden Centres to running national marketing campaigns, we believe that every member of the RHS team should have the opportunity to make a difference.
