The RHS is a national charity with a mission to inspire everyone to grow, as it is vital to our wellbeing, the environment and the happiness of us all.
Through our Campaign for School Gardening, we provide schools and youth groups with hundreds of educational resources, exciting initiatives and projects, and a national training programme to help bring the outdoors to life.
The role of Schools and Groups Engagement Officer
This is an exciting new role within our team, which will support the development and delivery of a plan to grow participation and engagement with the RHS Campaign for School Gardening.
The post-holder will support the Engagement Manager on developing partnerships with schools and youth groups, and creating a network of ambassadors and advocates to champion the benefits of gardening. They will be the first point of contact for schools and groups engaging with us and will manage our successful School Gardening Awards scheme which provides participants with rewards as they grow their skills and knowledge. The post-holder will also support the Engagement Manager in co-creating and piloting new initiatives designed to help young people see and feel the benefits of the natural world.
We’re looking for someone with experience in working schools or youth groups, experience in creating educational resources or learning materials for these audiences and a good knowledge of the UK education system. The right candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage relationships will a variety of stakeholders and strong customer service experience.
As well as supporting the Engagement Manager, the role will also work closely with others in the team to create exciting new ways of engaging with schools, and to measure the impacts of our programmes.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours a week
Salary: £30,000
Location: RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey with travel to schools across the UK and occasional travel to other RHS offices
